Walmart Price Matching List 10/10-10/16

There are a couple of smoking hot price matches this week! You can get center-cut pork ribs for only $.66/lb! Nabisco Snak Saks are back too--just $.99 each. Crest and Colgate toothpaste are reach just $1. Terry's ad still has not been updated online (Thurs 4:00 pm). I'll update this list when I see it!

I wanted to give you all a heads-up that our little girl is due 3 weeks from today. When she makes her grand appearance, I may take a few weeks away from the blog to focus on family. I've had offers from some to take up the torch in my absence, but either way, I'll definitely let you know if there will be no list posted!

Happy price matching! See more on this week's produce deals here.

  1. I thought I had posted a comment so I'm sorry if this shows up twice but I am just having a difficult time price matching lately and I'm wondering if anyone else is running into this. I shop at the Walmarts in Corinth and highland village. Today I was told they do not price match on store brands, sack n save, market street, or any meat products. Last time they wouldn't do the boneless skinless chicken breasts. I left pretty frusterated so I was hoping someone could catch me up on what I'm doing wrong. Thank you!

    1. Audrey,

I'm sorry for such a frustrating experience. I have personally never shopped at that store, but I wanted to get some answers for you, so I called the customer service departments in both Corinth and Hickory Creek.

I'll put the summary first, since I can see that my answer has gotten kind of long, then I'll give you the details from both stores:

      Summary:

These are areas where the manager's of the individual stores have the broad discretion to decide. Corinth sounds like the more price-matching friendly place to shop.

      Corinth:

The gal from customer service there would not define a radius for their price matching which makes it hard to be sure why they're not honoring Sack N Save and Market Street. Sack N Save is only 9 miles from the Corinth Walmart, while the nearest Market Street (in Frisco) is almost exactly 15 miles.

She said that they don't have a defined radius, "but if you bring your ads in with you, then you shouldn't have a problem." I told her that I knew that the corporate policy said that we didn't need to have the ads, and she responded that they had the ads and would be happy to check when necessary.

If you do have access to the Sack N Save ad, I would recommend bringing it in. If not, I'm not sure what to tell you about that one.

She confirmed that they *will* match meat prices and store brands (i.e. the Albertsons brand or Safeway brand, but *not* those store's premium brands such as Tom Thumb's Lucerne brand or Kroger's Private Selections brand).

      Highland Village:

I'm guessing this is where you had the trouble.
The gal from customer service here said that Denton stores are "not local enough," and Sack N Save (as you probably know) is located right next to UNT in Denton. She said that they only match stores in Lewisville--which also explains why Market Street is not being honored there.

As far as the meat goes, she said that they will not honor the meat prices from El Rancho or Terry's because the cuts of meat are different. She said they are not prepackaged like they are at the Walmart store--they are all cut to order. I didn't think to ask her about Albertson's meat prices, because those *are* prepackaged, and there are often some good price matches to be had there...

She also said that the Highland Village Walmart will not match store brands. This is an area of discretion left up to the manager, and this is the direction thy have decided to go.

Does that answer your questions ok? I'm happy to do some more digging if we need to!
