Last year, I know some locations did price match Black Friday and some did not, but it looks like a push from the corporate level to price match Black Friday at all Walmart's this year!
Two things to be mindful of:
1. Be careful of high priced items, electronics in particular. Walmart will
often have their own version of the same model that you could find
elsewhere, just made with cheaper components and with a slightly
different model number or UPC or something. For TV's, computers, cameras
and other expensive items, just check carefully to make sure that the
products actually are identical. For most small-ticket items, there likely won't be a problem. Things like toys, video games, DVD's and anything else in a lower price bracket will probably be identical to what you would find anywhere else.
2. Remember, each store still has the autonomy to set their own definition for "local competitor." Some have a mileage radius, and some will just say "in the same city as the one where Walmart is located." A quick call to your Walmart's customer service will clear that up for you. If you do call your Walmart, will you leave the info you find in the comments so others can benefit?
You can also see the complete Walmart Black Friday ad, or a preview of many other Black Friday ads.
Happy Thanksgiving!
